Services and Fees
Snoring is not an insured medical condition under the B.C. Medical Services Plan. Therefore no referral is necessary. However, if your doctor believes you may have obstuctive Sleep Apnea, he will likely wish to refer you to our centre, in which case the consultation fee is paid by MSP.
Non-referred patients
Consultation Fees for private patients are payable at the time of the appointment, and before the commencement of any procedure or course of procedures. The fee for the initial consultation and endoscopy is subtracted from the first of any subsequent surgical fees, provided the surgery occurs within six months.
Referred patients
If your physician suspects you have sleep apnea (not simply snoring), he may refer you to the Centre; in these cases MSP will currently pay the consultation fee. However, MSP will not cover any surgery unless sleep apnea is proven on overnight study in an accredited sleep facility, and then only if the surgery is done in hospital. The MSP-paid consultation fee cannot be deducted, reclaimed or refunded.
The RPM surgical fee includes a total of three visits for assessment, education and counselling, and treatment as necessary.
The LAUP and PIP surgical fee includes one followup visit for assessment and counselling.
The TB Rf serial proceedures individually are paid for prior to each session.
Proceedures done in a private facilty are payable to that facility in their entirety.
Please obtain fees by phone or fax from the Sleep Surgery Centre. Payment is by cash, Visa, or MasterCard. Consultation fees are payable at the time of the appointment. Surgical fees must be fully paid at the time of booking so that equipment and expertise can be arranged and coordinated for your procedure.
